Brahmapur-Jaipur Biju Expressway-2 soon

Bhubaneswar 9/5: On the instructions of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister’s Secretary (5-T) Shri V.K. Pandian went to Gajapati district on a two-day visit today and reviewed various developmental works. In particular, regarding the construction of the important Biju Expressway, he advised to speed up the process by discussing with the officials of the Department of Transport.
It is worth noting that after the successful completion of the construction work of Biju Expressway-1, the state government is now going to start the work of Biju Expressway-2. It carries great importance in terms of economic and social development of the state. This 305 km long road will connect Berhampur city with Jaipur and about 7000 crore rupees will be invested for this project. This is a completely new project (Green Field Project). It will be built through 15 blocks in 4 districts – Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada and Koraput. 43 km in Ganjam, 47 km in Gajapati, 158 km in Rayagada. and 57 km in Koraput. The road will be built.
This will reduce the travel time from Brahmapur to Jaipur from 8 hours to 5 hours. Brahmapur to Mohana will take only 45 minutes and Rayagada to Mohana will take only one and a half hours which now takes around 4 hours. On this road, for the first time in the state, the hill will be opened and the road will be constructed so that the road length will be about 25 to 30 km. It will reduce and travel time will also be less than 2 hours. Pandian informed that a new economic corridor can be created in South Odisha and this work will be completed within three years.
Pandian then visited the Jirang Buddha Temple and interacted with the students of Jirang College. He promised that smart classes will be started in Jirang College within six months by December. After discussing with the children, he advised the children to work for the betterment of their college. He asked to contribute to the development of Odisha after reading a good lesson. Along with this, he met the general public and heard their various problems. He suggested to the District Collector to immediately resolve whatever is possible at the district level and to send proposals for solving other problems
