Parents become cruel to own daughter, Keonjhar

KEONJHAR 09/05: The parents became cruel to the girl because she fell in love with her. The father of the 4-month-pregnant girl was seriously injured by kicking her stomach. The pregnant woman was rescued and admitted to the district head hospital. While her condition is critical, the locals are condemning the cruel father and mother’s brutality. This touching incident happened in Kumulabahali village of Damahuda panchayat under Patna police station of Keonjhar district.

According to the information, Sujata Mahant (19), daughter of Ravindra Mahant of Dumuria Panchayat Kothaghar village, married Sharat Mahant, son of Ramachandra Mahant of Kumulabahali village. However, a wedding party was held by the son’s family in Kumulabahali village yesterday. On Monday morning, the girl’s father reached the village of Kumulabahali and spoke harshly saying that he had married his daughter of his own free will. There was an argument between both the families regarding this. In anger, the father kicked the pregnant girl in the stomach. The girl was seriously injured after being hit in the back and was immediately taken to the hospital. Local people have detained the girl’s parents and the family has complained to the Patna police station. It seems that the case has been registered in Patna Police Station Case No. 77/23.
