Srinagar 05/05: There was a fierce exchange of fire between the army and terrorists in Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. It has been reported that two army jawans have been martyred in the firing of terrorists. 4 jawans including an officer were injured. They have been admitted to the Army Hospital and are undergoing treatment. Jammu Zone Additional Director General of Police Mukesh Singh informed about this.
According to the information received, a search operation was started last Wednesday after getting information about the hiding of some terrorists in Kandi forest of Rajouri. A joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police and Army launched a search operation. A search was made in a cave at 7.30 on Friday morning. However, the terrorists hiding inside fired a missile. As a result of which 2 jawans of the army have been martyred. Along with this, 4 soldiers were injured. The terrorists are said to be still trapped inside the cave and some of them are believed to be injured. Another team has been sent to the concerned place.
These terrorists are said to be involved in the attack on an army truck in the Poonch sector on April 20. 5 Javanese were martyred and one seriously injured in the truck attack.
However, two terrorists were killed in an encounter with the Indian Army in Barmulla last Tuesday. Offensive material, weapons including AK-47 gun and pistol were seized from them. It was later found that the two terrorists who were killed were from the local area. The two slain terrorists, Sakir Majeed Nazar and Hanan Ahmad, were working for Lashkar-e-Toiba. Similarly, the army had an encounter in the rear sector of Kupobada on Wednesday. In which 2 terrorists were killed.
